Come with me and hear my tale
Of midnight strolls and nightingales
Of clams that speak and humpbacked whales
And how we found the Holy Grail.
Sit down, child, here, right next to me
And I will virtually guarantee
That you will like my repartee
Under this English Walnut tree.
I’ll talk of knights and maidens fair
With long, blonde, auburn, raven hair
And lovers gathered in a snare
And foxes and a big black bear!
With dragons and huge monsters, plenty
But racing cars, it won’t have any.
There will be cheese and mices, many
And I won’t charge a single penny!
I’ll mention laughs and lots of fears
And occasionally a few tears
There’ll be this part where God appears
- Though what He’s up to is unclear.
And Indians and astronauts
And mushrooms that have polka dots
And sailors who tie good square knots.
This legend you will like a lot!
I’ll talk of love and of the heart
Sadness and lives torn apart
That’s the tale I will soon impart…
What? You’re ready for me to start?
